Words of Life for this week are:Â Surrender
At Tigard Covenant Church, we have been talking about giving our lives over for the cause of Christ by doing his will, allowing the presence of the Lord in this place by doing his will. We place our lives on the altar of God and He does amazing things. We surrender to Him so He can work through us. God is so good. He uses us for his glory, so we can be a blessing to someone else; in the process, we don’t allow the flesh to rule, but God rules. We don’t allow those negative past behaviors to cause us to sin; but we enjoy his presence, which leads us to righteous living. There is a wonderful old hymn that says, “Is your all on the altar of sacrifice laid, your heart does the Spirit control? You can only be blest and have peace and sweet rest, if you yield Him your body and soulâ€. Do that this day, and each and every day this week, and you will see some great things develop in your life.
