Words of Life for this week are: Second Chances
There is a fascinating book in the Bible dealing with the subject of, “Second Chance.†God gives each one of us a second chance when we do wrong. He forgives us and He tells us to get up and get back in the fight. Many people and institutions in our society do not give us a second chance when we mess up. For example, you can’t get a job in a bank if you steal money; or if you injure someone, you can’t work in a home for the elderly. This is just the way our society works. You don’t get a second chance in an area where you didn’t do right; but in the book of Jonah, God gives His servant another chance to serve Him in an area where he came up short. God doesn’t operate the same way the systems of the world do. He is different. He is a loving and forgiving God who really cares about us and will use us when we truly are sorry for our sin. What areas in your life have you done wrong? You have the love and forgiveness of your heavenly Father and He wants to restore. Will you come to Him today and ask His forgiveness?
