Words of Life for this week are: Your Light and Your Salvation
We are focusing on the Bible verse Psalm 27:1, which says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?† This Bible verse speaks to the confidence King David had in his God.  He trusted Him in big and practical ways.  In the big ways, he trusted God for protection from his enemies, which at times were very overpowering.  In practical ways, he trusted God when people were angry with his leadership style, and even in his own family there was disruption.  He also trusted God when he had his personal insecurities, when he was depressed and lonely.  David found a way to discover intimacy with God.  He sang to God, he praised God, and told God when he was very unhappy and even angry about the trials of life.  Over time, he tested the dependency and reliance of God in his life when he needed Him the most.  He could say, without any reservation, that He is the†stronghold of my lifeâ€.  May you learn from King David, and allow God to show up in your life in big and practical ways and receive your blessing, by declaring He is your light and your salvation.
Bless you,
