Words of Life for this week are:“A Prayer for Fathersâ€
King David, in the Bible, faced a very serious situation in his relationship with God. He had sinned. He committed adultery and murder. He was totally distraught and downcast. He came to God in prayer and asked for his forgiveness and restoration. King David recites a heartfelt prayer of repentance in Psalm 51. Particularly as men, we need to learn from King David and utter a prayer of repentance when we sin. It’s never good to hide our sin and try to justify it, but instead, we should just tell God that we are deeply sorry and ask his forgiveness. I want to encourage every man and woman to follow the example of King David and just repent. Hear the words of King David, “Against you only have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight…. Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me”. These are good words that we should use regularly when we have sinned before God and others.
