Finishing the work
We all have been commissioned by God to do good works. In Philippians 1:6, it says, “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.†God has started a good work in those who have put their faith in Christ. When we ask Jesus to be Lord and Savior of our lives, the Holy Spirit begins to work in us, and He expects us to be diligent about doing good works. In verse 9 of this same chapter, we are encouraged to let love grow in our lives. The love of God will permeate everything we do. When we love other people and demonstrate that love in tangible ways, we are doing a good work for God. Let’s continue to do good works in love. God started something wonderful in our lives that began with love, and let’s continue to walk in love as we minister God’s grace to others.
