Let the praise come forth
Jesus’ coming to earth caused reactions from many people. There was a King who was jealous of his coming and wanted to cause harm to baby Jesus. There were Magi and others who searched the scriptures and were joyfully awaiting his coming. There were shepherds who were excited and thrilled at his coming and went about telling many people about his birth. His coming has brought great joy and salvation to many today. At this time of year, we think about how He came. He was born to a Jewish mother who was part of an oppressed people. He was born in a lowly barn. He came as a vulnerable baby. He came as a servant. But most importantly, He was born the King of the world and brought salvation to all who believe in him. His coming is the ultimate game changer. His coming should cause praise to come forward from every people group around the world. So join the chorus of Angels who declared to the lowly shepherds, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
