Give God your Praise
We have entered into what we call Holy Week in Christianity. This is the week leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. During this week, Jesus prays a prayer for all believers in the Gospel, John chapter 17. He prayed for all people that would eventually believe in Him. Jesus said, “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one…†This was right before Jesus was arrested and would go on trial. He takes time to pray for you and me. His prayer is that we would be one, as He is one with the Father. Love that comes from God makes us one. Asking Jesus to be Lord over every area of our lives makes us one. Bearing one another’s burdens and loving our neighbor makes us one. Relying on the Holy Spirit and living according to his word, makes us one with Jesus. When we are one with Jesus, we let his light of love shine in our hearts, and everyone around us wants to get to know this same Jesus. Let’s point people toward Jesus this week. Let’s give God all the praise for sending us his Son.
